Current technologies based on extruded film used for the production of so-called Light Guide Plates (LGP) require a film that is protected by plastic film on both sides, up to the moment of processing the LGP. This is, of course, to eliminate damages and impurities before the process. However, with TC TECH’s production method for High Precision Light Guide Film (HP LGF) no protective film is needed, which means lower costs and reduced environmental impact – as the removed protective films, including their glue residues, are always discarded after removal. With TC TECH’s unique technology, any potential damages are repaired and eliminated when the double-sided pattern is applied.
In TC TECH’s Roll to Sheet equipment (RtS) the plastic film is cleaned before the process, which means that the risk of impurities impairing the efficiency of the nano-pattern is eliminated. TC TECH’s RtS is designed for the use of LGF without protective film, but can also handle the removal of protective films.
Roll to Sheet – Automatic handling of plastic film entering and exiting a TCP 150. A roll of film substrate (with or without protective film) is fed into the system. If protective film is used, it is automatically removed on both sides. The film substrate is deionized and vacuumed/cleaned.
